Have you ever thought about the pollutants and chemicals that enter our body every day? Sure we think of the pollutants from vehicles, cigarettes, alcohol and pesticides as toxic. But what about the water we drink and bathe with, the soaps and lotions we use on our body, the products we put in our hair, make-up on our face, washing detergents we use to clean our clothes, even the products to clean our home? These are all traced with chemicals that do harm to our body.
We all come in contact with toxins, and our body even creates toxins through metabolic processes including rebuilding muscle and digestion. Toxins disturb the natural flux and flow of homeostasis, which is the body’s ability to maintain its balance.
Toxins are poisonous to the human body. Toxins are major factors that create disease. Toxins cause issues such as rashes, fatigue, constant post-nasal drip, adult-onset allergies, joint pain, headaches, and more. Toxins can block oxygen from binding with the red blood cells, kill the friendly bacteria found in our gut, block enzymes our body requires for normal functions, interfere with DNA synthesis and block the absorption of vitamins and minerals.
Our immune system defends against these toxins. A solid immune system identifies these enemies quickly and fights to destroy them. Our body was created to eliminate toxins. We are constantly detoxifying through sweat, urine and feces. When we exercise, we activate our system to push toxins out of our body. There are certain exercises designed to specifically assist in detoxification. When we eat a clean diet full of vitamins, minerals, and fiber we give our body the proper nutrients to function up to its optimal capacity and assist in releasing toxins. There are certain foods that work particularly well to remove toxins from our body, chlorella and spirulina in particular. When we shop for products free of toxic chemicals we decrease our exposure to environmental toxins. When we shop organically and take the time to properly wash our fruits and vegetables, we reduce food toxins. The more vigilant we are in keeping toxins out of our life, the more we benefit from in terms of health, vitality, beauty and energy.
